Grand-Inn Bar and Bed
Aðalgata 19, 550 SauðárkrókurNorth Iceland

The house on Aðalgata 19 consists of 3 separate building structures, the first and northernmost was built in 1897, and is now the guesthouse section of Grand-Inn Bar and Bed. In 1923 KM Lindgreen, a chemist, added an addition to the southern end of the building and created the second door which was to his Chemist/Apotek, which is where the upper area of the bar is today. Ole Bang purchased the Chemists and middle apartment in 1931 and then the northernmost part in 1942 thereby taking ownership of the whole property.
In 1956 he built the southernmost end which is now home to the main bar area of Grand-Inn Bar and Bed. Ole and Minna lived in the house during our childhood here in Sauðárkrókur. Minna often invited friends in for a glass of sherry and a chat - we hope that our guests will feel as welcome as Minna’s and will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy a good time with friends.
